TAPESTRY

by and featuring B.J. Abraham and Audrey Galex

Tapestry is two women storytellers who use their respective faiths and cultural heritages to foster cross-cultural understanding.  B.J. Abraham grew up as a Lebanese Christian in the Mississippi Delta and brings into her stories many of the accents and characters with which she grew up.  Audrey Galex grew up along the Mississippi River in Illinois and was immersed in stories of her Jewish heritage.  B.J. and Audrey have come together to create a tandem story that provides a model for listening, peaceful coexistence and hope. Tapestry performances have been described as “humorous, moving and empowering.”

An Evening with Beatrice Lillie

The woman Noel Coard called “the funniest woman in the world” is brought to life in a hilarious and delightfully fast-paced musical.  Beatrice Lillie’s remarkable career spanned Broadway and London musicals stages from 1917 to 1964, won her a Tony award and also included co-starring in the film “Thoroughly Modern Millie.”  In a showcase performance hailed as an inspired evening to savor, Layne Littlepage reincarnates the first lady of comedy.

ROUTE 66 - A Musical Journey along the Mother Road

On The Road Again...what a ride! Route 66 begins in Chicago and travels along the famed "Main Street of America" to the coast of California. The show features an energetic guy-group who takes us on a musical journey featuring a variety of musical styles from the Beach Boys to country. They sing, they dance, and they "act up" in this fast-paced, high-octane show for the entire family.


 

The ART Station Theater is part of the ART Station Contemporary Arts Center, which is housed in a regenerated Old Trolley Station in the heart of historic Stone Mountain Village outside Atlanta, Georgia.

The Center is a multidisciplinary organization which the Georgia Council for the Arts has consistently ranked among the top in the state. Its stages and galleries host the work of some of the most well known authors and artists in the area such as Ferrol Sams, Clyde Egerton, Samuel Mockbee, and Carol Connely.

ART Station has participated at the Cultural Olympiads of both the Lillihammer and Atlanta Olympic Games. They have performed regularly in the prestigious Piccolo Spoleto Festival which is held each year in Charleston, South Carolina, and the center's annual storytelling festival, A Tour of Southern Ghosts, is one of the most popular events of the fall season and attracts fun-loving kids of all ages. ART Station offers a menu of choices for patrons and artists alike, including classrooms and studios which provide a dynamic environment that nurtures talent and ignites creativity as well as first-class pioneering theater.
